Connected with Working Life

The higher education institutions of Oulu cooperate closely with the local industry and commerce, which is also reflected in the studies. Students have possibilities to get connected with the working life already during their studies through different projects, internships and Theses, depending on the degree programme. In all the Bachelor programmes and in some Master programmes the practical training is included in the degree.

Both higher education institutions carry out active research and development work to promote know-how, employment and competitiveness of the region. Broad connections with local and international research and education institutions ensure high quality education. Good examples of the close connections to the business life are for example the various research groups of the University of Oulu or the Oulu UAS's business incubator, where students develop their ideas for entrepreneurship already during their studies with the experts of business life.
