Student centred quality

The education in both of the higher education institutions of Oulu receives a lot of praise from the international degree students for its student centred education. The teaching takes place is small study groups and each student receives personal attention in an interactive learning environment. Dialogue and co-operation are encouraged in the teaching. The relationship between the students and the academic staff is open and the teachers are easy to approach.

All the degrees include also some free-choice studies that can be chosen according to one's own interest and expertise. The personal study planning and supervision for the students are the cornerstones of the education. The education is flexible, yet effective. In order to succeed in studies you are required to have good independent study skills.
