On behalf of our community of 130 000 people, it is my great pleasure to welcome you to the City of Oulu. Oulu combines Northern hospitality, nature and culture with modern technology. Town Manager Welcome to study in Raahe! Raahe is a comfortable-sized town situated along the Gulf of Bothnia in Northern Finland. Our town has long traditions of being internationally oriented. Raahe is also well-known for being a significant industrial town. For instance, the Rautaruukki Oyj�s local steel factory is the biggest in the Nordic countries. The close cooperation with the University of Oulu and the Oulu University of Applied Sciences have brought diverse studying opportunities for both local and international students. We would like to welcome you as a future professional to enjoy our diverse studying and working opportunities and to find your own place in Raahe.
